Millions of people were surely tuned in to Fox last night to watch the first game of the World Series matchup between the Kansas City Royals and New York Mets. And then something went wrong. At one point, the Fox truck in Kansas City lost power and the screen went dark.
Talk about a bad time to be experiencing technical difficulties! The delay ended up lasting about five minutes because the MLB’s international feed stepped up to the plate and brought the broadcast back to life.
However, the domestic feed took an entire 23 minutes to restore. Many believe that the person who suffered most from this delay was Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey, who was left standing on the mound with no one to pitch to.
Regardless of all that, it was a thrilling game that lasted 14 innings. If this is what we are going to get for the next games as well, this World Series could go down in history as one of the most exciting ever!
