Seattle Seahawks have done a lot for their future this Friday as they signed Russell Wilson to a 4-year extension of his contract. This means that one of the best quarterbacks in the league will stay with the franchise for at least five more years (he has got one more year on his rookie contract).
The contract extension is worth $87.6 million, $60 million of which guaranteed. In addition to this, Russell reportedly got a $31 million signing bonus. This deal means that Russell will be joining Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers as the highest-paid NFL player.
It comes as no surprise that the Seattle Seahawks have done everything in their power to keep the young quarterback who has led their team to two straight Super Bowls, winning one. He is truly a franchise player and Seahawks fans must be super excited that he is their franchise’s player.
