Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice no longer has a job with the Ravens, and chances are he will never play in the NFL again.
Rice was initially banned for only two games after he was charged for the abuse of his then-fiancée Janay Palmer.
TMZ leaked the surveillance video this week, which shows Rice punching Palmer and knocking her out in the elevator of a casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Once the video leaked, criticism began to pour in against the Ravens and the National Football League for the fact that Rice was only suspended for two games in light of this brutal act.
The Ravens and league then scampered to reevaluate the situation, and the Baltimore franchise decided to cut their ties with the player completely.
Criticism of the league for the delay in cutting Rice continues to pour in, as the NFL will no doubt have to answer for their actions to the many that can’t make sense of how the league could suspend Rice for fewer games than it suspends a player who violates their substance abuse policies.
