Our New Years’ Wishes For NBA’s 30 Teams

The NBA season is really heating up and there is plenty more to be played in the year 2016. Pretty much all of the teams could do with a New Years’ wish or two and this is what we want for them to have once the calendar flips.

  • For the Atlanta Hawks, we wish for them to find a better plan on how to utilize their backup point guard Dennis Shroder. If they could get some consistency out of him in 2016, they will end up with one of the best, if not the best, point guard duos in the league.
  • The Boston Celtics are playing better than anyone expected this year, but they are still missing one thing – a consistent scorer who they can count on night in and night out.
  • With their 2016 Draft pick traded away long time ago and their current team struggling, the Brooklyn Nets need a miracle. Perhaps in the form of finding someone who would be interested to take Joe Johnson’s ginormous contract off their hands.
  • For the Charlotte Hornets, we wish that their starters lay off the drugs and avoid suspensions. Otherwise they are fine.
  • The Chicago Bulls could need a bit more explosion from Derrick Rose, but the one thing we wish them to find in the New Year is more team spirit.
  • The Cleveland Cavaliers only need one thing in the New Year and that is for their Big Three of LeBron, Kyrie and Love to remain healthy for the rest of the season.
  • The Dallas Mavericks are faring quite well this season, but they could definitely do with a bona fide playmaker who will make easy shots for the rest of the team.
  • As far as the Denver Nuggets are concerned, we wish them a little bit of everything.
  • For the Detroit Pistons, we wish a bit more of Brandon Jennings coming off the bench. It is not easy getting accustomed to a bench role, but if he can nail it, they will become even better.
  • For the Golden State Warriors, there is only one thing anyone could wish on them – good health.
  • The Houston Rockets could do with one thing more than with anything else and that is some kind of magic potion that will turn Ty Lawson in the player he had been before he came to Houston.
  • The Indiana Pacers could definitely do with Myles Turner returning from his injury and giving them some additional depth they will need going into postseason.
  • For the Los Angeles Clippers, we want them to somehow make their bench play like you would expect from such names.
  • For the Los Angeles Lakers, we wish them the quickest possible end to this season.
  • Our New Years’ wish for the Memphis Grizzlies is a shooter. We don’t know where they can find him, but they need to.
  • For the Miami Heat, we wish upon them some offensive chemistry and flow (read Dragic to play as he can).
  • The wish we have for the Milwaukee Bucks is patience so that this young team with plenty of promise can grow up.
  • For the Minnesota Timberwolves, we wish them improved handle from Andrew Wiggins. Once he perfects his handle, he and Karl-Anthony Towns will dominate the league.
  • The New Orleans Pelicans need to get some help for Anthony Davis and that is what we wish for them this New Years’.
Jose Calderon
  • For the New York Knicks, we wish them a better point guard than Jose Calderon. He is not the worst player in the world, but they need better.
  • The Oklahoma City Thunder simply need to find a way to Frankenstein all of their shooting guards into a single shooting guard who would be a complete package.
  • For the Orlando Magic, it is quite simple – they need Elfrid Payton to shoot better. That’s the only thing they need in the New Year.
  • If we had a billion wishes, we couldn’t save the Philadelphia 76ers‘ season so we will wish them a quick end to this one.
  • For the Phoenix Suns, we wish them the best of luck in the 2016 NBA Draft.
  • For the Portland Trailblazers, we wish them a big man who will complement Lillard and McCollum.
  • For the Sacramento Kings, we wish them that DeMarcus Cousins fantastically transforms his personality and becomes the team leader he could be.
  • There is really nothing you could wish for the San Antonio Spurs. Maybe to have Danny Green’s shot back.
  • The one thing that Toronto Raptors need is to find their way out of the first round of the playoffs. The team needs it.
  • For the Utah Jazz, we simply wish them that all of their key players return from injury (Burks, Gobert, Exum) and that no more players get injured.
  • Finally, for the Washington Wizards, we wish the someone other than Marcin Gortat to play defense or a better defensive plan altogether.
