It is yet unknown if this move has anything to do with the fact that Ty Lawson was arrested for a DUI twice this year, but the Denver Nuggets point guard is on the move. The Houston Rockets will be getting Lawson, while Nuggets will be getting Kostas Koufos, Joey Dorsey, Nick Johnson, Pablo Prigioni, as well as a protected first round pick in return.
Most experts agree that this is a move that will further bolster Rockets’ roster this year while they also believe that the deal is not really that good from the Nuggets’ point of view. Sure, they are getting some serviceable players, but they just lost their starting point guard and one of the best players on the team.
Happy Walters, Lawson’s agent says that his client is very excited to be joining Rockets, especially since he is friends with a couple of players on their team, namely Corey Brewer, James Harden and Trevor Ariza.
