The first day of the NBA free agency period was pretty interesting all in all. One of the major events was that the New Orleans Pelicans locked up their star Anthony Davis as expected. They are expected to sign him to a five-year deal worth $145 million.
Even though Tim Duncan is expected to play next year, the Spurs are already thinking about his replacement, and are making sure that Kawhi Leonard will be with the team for the long run. He signed a five-year deal worth $90 million.
Those guys deserve the money, but does Al-Farouq Aminu really deserve the $30 million he’s getting from Portland. We think not. Also, Kevin Love is expected to meet with the Lakers, but most sources believe that he is going to be staying in Cleveland when all is said and done because he’s more interested in winning a championship than getting paid as much as possible.
