NBA players might not be the smartest people in the world, but there’s no doubt that they can be clever and very resourceful. Team USA member DeMarcus Cousins is a good example.
At a press conference ahead of the team’s game against Slovenia, Cousins was fielding questions.
One of the journalists at the press conference asked Cousins if he even knew where Slovenia is, considering that the team will be playing against them next.
Cousins responded saying that no, he does not know where Slovenia is. But he then quickly offered a rebuttal, asking the journalist if he knew where Alabama was.
Everyone got a good laugh out of the exchange, and it’s good that Cousins did not respond angrily to the question, which regardless of the context, seemed to be like a pretty condescending question asked by the European journalist.
The US beats Slovenia 119-76 in the 1/4 finals of the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
