2. Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant has had one hell of a career, there is no doubt about that. He brought 5 championships to the Los Angeles Lakers. Also, he is a two-time NBA Finals MVP, the 2008 NBA MVP and was selected to the All-Star team in 17 of his 19 seasons in the league. He has brought home innumerable more awards and just listing them would take up all of our space here.
In the 1996 NBA Draft, Kobe fell down as low as #13. No, really. He was drafted 13th that year. Some of the players that were picked ahead of him include Lorenzen Wright, Kerry Kittles, Erick Dampier and Todd Fuller.
The reason why so many teams passed on Kobe was that he was coming straight out of high school and they believed he was too much of a gamble. Lakers were rebuilding and he fit in perfectly with their plans. The funniest part of the story that the 13th pick was not even supposed to be Lakers’ as they got it in a trade from Charlotte Hornets.
