Would you like Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James to tweet about you or your product? It’s going to cost you a pretty penny – up to $1,000 per character! A company that helps athletes and digital marketers work together on sponsored tweets, Opendorse, claims that a tweet from King James is worth about $140,000.
Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you can get a sponsored tweet if you have that kind of money, since it was reported that James turned down a six-figure offer for a sponsored tweet earlier. But if you do get James to tweet for you, there’s a chance that you can reach 23.2 million people, which is the number of followers his official Twitter account boasts.
Of all the American superstar athletes, James’ Twitter is easily of the highest value. Second and third are Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant and Lakers star Kobe Bryant, with estimated values of about $66,000 and $42,000 per tweet respectively.
