Around the nation, fans of all ages watch and wish to meet their favorite players and visit team facilities. The Make-A-Wish Foundation works in conjunction with NFL organizations to grant wishes of special children who are facing life-threatening illnesses. Following is a sampling of wishes that were granted during 2013.
1. Washington Redskins, Robert Griffin III, and Rex Grossman
Lateef Brock’s wish was to play for the Washington Redskins with Robert Griffin III. Mike Shanahan started the wish granting process by drafting him in the first round. Griffin spoke of the memorable day of training with Brock with emotion: “I feel blessed that he chose me to be the guy he came out to practice with and hang out with.”
